Mechanism and conditions of shipping by containers
ATLANTIC FREIGHT provides a full range of services for the carriage of goods by sea containers from the United States and Canada, which includes:
- The container is delivered from the container yard (CY) of a shipping line to the shipper’s warehouse;
- The shipper loads the container, seals it and gives to a trucker, who carries the container to the port of loading;
- The container is delivered to the loading area, gets loaded within 1-2 hours in the presence of a truck driver, sealed and immediately driven away to the port;
- The container is delivered to the loading area and remains at the shipper’s place for a few days. At the end of a specified period, the driver returns and takes the container to the port;
- At the port the sealed container is loaded aboard a ship;
- When the container is delivered to the port of destination, the container is unloaded at the container yard;
- The consignee performs discharging of the container;
- If the container is not a property of the consignee (SOC Container), the empty container is returned to the container yard (CY);
